Chard is available in different colors, but the deep green colored version is often used in Korea. It has a large leaf and crisp dense stalk. It has a bitter earthy flavor.
It can be used to wrap rice (쌈밥), used raw as a wrap for Korean BBQ, blanched and seasoned, and added to soups.
