
Sea string is a type of seaweed. It is thin and stringy with a slightly bumpy texture/feel. It has a mild flavor and slightly crisp bite. It is usually sold salted or dried.
When using fresh sea string, wash it well in cold water to remove excess salt. Then, massage it with vinegar to clean it further, enhance the texture, and improve the aroma of the seaweed. Wash it again in cold water to remove the vinegar, and then soak it in cold water for 20-30 minutes.
It is often used as a seasoned side dish. It can be mixed with other vegetables and made spicy or salty.
