When you make rice for a group of people it may be difficult to estimate how much raw rice you should cook to have enough for each person.
The worst situation is not making enough rice and then leaving your guests to wait around until more rice is made, so to avoid this situation I will share with you the basic ratio of raw rice per person.
Approximately ¾ cup (American Measure) of raw rice or grains per every 2 people.
The reason I provide the raw rice ratio for 2 people instead of individually is that if you cook a very small portion of rice alone in a cooking vessel, it can come out drier than if you cooked more rice altogether.
It is better to cook at least a two-person portion of rice in the rice cooker because if you cook a very small amount of rice in your rice cooker it will come out dry. If you do want to cook a one-person portion, then I would recommend you use a smaller cooking vessel like an individual-sized Dolsot (돌솥) so that you can have a better texture outcome.
