- Sugar (설탕) is added to balance the seasoning flavor of the raw beef.
- Salt (꽃소금) is added to season the raw beef.
- Sesame oil (참기름) is very important for the flavor of a raw beef dish. It is drizzled on top and mixed with the raw beef.
- Asian pear (배) is usually used sliced into matchsticks and served as a base to place the beef on top.
- Raw chestnuts (밤) have a crisp, juicy flavor. It is sliced or cut into match sticks are served as a base as well.
- Pine nuts (젓) can be used as a garnish whole or crushed.
- Egg yolk (노른자) is added to the top of the raw beef and then mixed into the beef. Some regions do not use egg yolks.
- Green onion (파) is used as a fresh, crisp garnish.
- Black pepper (후추) is used to add more flavor.
- Sesame seeds (깨) are used as a garnish and for texture.
- Garlic (마늘) is used to season the raw beef.
