How to Prepare & Clean Whole Octopus

Step #1 Remove any unwanted parts

1. Remove any organs inside the head section by pushing out with your hand and discarding them.
2. Remove the eyes and beak of the octopus by cutting them out using a pairing knife. The eyes will get sliced off the top and the beak is in the center of the tentacles.  
3. It’s optional to remove the skin on the head of the octopus

Step #2 Clean the octopus

1. Take coarse salt and massage the octopus with the salt for a few minutes. 
2. Then wash it well with fresh cold water to remove the salt.
