Cluster mallow is a leaf vegetable. It has a mild earthy green flavor and strong aroma that stimulates/increases the appetite.
Before using this leaf, you should first remove the outer fibrous layer on the stem. Then wash the leaf well in cold water and then drain. Next, add coarse salt to the leaves and massage them till liquid is released. Keep in mind that cluster mallow should be cooked before it is eaten.
It can be used in soups, seasoned as a side dish, and or added to porridge.
