Asian pears are white on the inside with a yellow peel on the outside. They have a crisp sweet flavor like a sweet water chestnut. Some substitutes are Honey crisp apples, Bosc pear, and Anjou pear.
Asian pear can be eaten raw as dessert, paired as a crunchy factor with raw beef, or blended and added to water kimchi, marinades, and sauces.

Korean apples are often used in cooking in a similar way to pears. They can be used as a substitute for pears in certain dishes, such as marinades. Korean pears have a thicker skin and are large, crisp, juicy, and sweet. In America, I used Honey Crisp as a substitute.
